Designed in-house and manufactured in Taiwan to exacting standards, the Turin Hobo is the dedicated gravel bike in our house brand frame family. Going straight to the source allowed us to produce some high quality frames (think Surly, All-city) at a much lower price point for you, the customer.
This frame has been built up with flat bars and a 1x9 Drivetrain well suited for city and trail riding.

Why does that gravel bike have mountain bike tires? Have you ever seen a brown bike before? What's the deal with airplane food - I mean is this stuff bad or what?
This bike raises a lot of questions in the shop and certainly turns a lot of heads. Open continues to push the envelope on what a gravel bike can be, and this is a shining example of that. HUGE tire clearance, super lightweight (and super comfortable) carbon layup, and iconic minimalist tubing and graphics. This bike looks so much fun standing still, and can handle basically anything short of downhill mountain bike trails. The Campagnolo Ekar group provides some very smooth shifting and is, in our opinion, one of the most sensible 1x setups out there with its largest 3 cassette cogs acting essentially as "bailout gears" for those especially tough climbs. Stop by and throw a leg over this thing!

WELCOME TO THE ERA OF SPEED IN GRAVEL.
A new breed of rider is emerging—one who loves the freedom and exploration that gravel culture was founded upon but who has a hunger to ride wild, to go full bore, and to explore not just geography but personal limits. This frontier requires a new kind of gravel machine, one engineered not to roam the trails, but to slay them.
For these athletes, we created a machine engineered for pure, unapologetic speed—ready to take down finish lines, KOM leaderboards, PR’s, and FKT’s. A single bike that first generates maximum speed, then controls that speed across the variable conditions gravel athletes must conquer. A machine built without limits, for the riders willing to test them.
ROAD RACING INSPIRED. GRAVEL RACING REFINED.
It’s time to change the paradigm of gravel bike design from hauling gear slowly to empowering athletes quickly. Leveraging vast knowledge from road racing, the Aspero frame is designed with world tour stiffness for greater pedal power transfer, using less and lighter material to aid climbing and accelerating, while maximizing speeds with aerodynamic shapes critical to efficiency at speed.
The Aspero lets you choose the tire that best suits the terrain so you're always in control, with clearance for 700c x 42 or 650B x 49 combinations. Since different outside rolling diameters of various wheel and tire combinations affect the bike handling, the fork includes a "Trail Mixer" design that adjusts trail to lessen the impact on handling when swapping between most common tire sizes.
- Aspero full carbon frame and fork
- Shimano GRX 600 drivetrain
- Alexrims Boondocks-7D tubeless wheels
- Shimano GRX RX600 Hydraulic Disc brakes
- Smartpak 400A top tube bag included

HAUL ASS, NOT CARGO
A new breed of rider is emerging-one who loves the freedom and exploration that gravel culture was founded upon but who has a hunger to ride hard, to go all out, and to explore not just geography but personal limits. This frontier requires a new kind of gravel machine, one engineered not to roam the trails, but to race them.
For these athletes, we engineered Aspero for pure, unapologetic speed, ready to take down finish lines, KOMs, PRs, and FKTs. A bike built without limits, for the riders looking to test them. It's stiff, Classics-racing stiff, and performs like you'd want a road bike to perform off-road. We think that makes sense, and it's what we were trying to do when we were stuffing bigger tires into our existing frames and swapping in aftermarket forks to get a 40mm tire up front.
The flip-chip in the fork-we call it the Trail Mixer-keeps the trail measurement consistent whether you choose 700c or 650b tires. This maintains the bike's personality and handling characteristics when you switch from mid-fats to full-fat. There are as many different ways to do gravel as there are gravel bikes these days, but if you're toeing the start line, looking to stay with the lead group, and contend for the victory, Aspero is the bike to get you there.

Flat Out. That's how Aspero debuted under the characters of the Wednesday Night Rough Club two years ago, and that's how it's stayed. And because at Cervelo we know that flat out doesn't stay flat out for long without a little help from science, we've come back from the drawing board with a new Aspero. A faster Aspero, a lighter Aspero, and—dare we say it—an even better-looking Aspero.
Our engineers like to say, "If it looks fast, it probably is"—but there's some truth to it, and Aspero-5 looks fast standing still. No cables in the wind, tubes derived from our library of aerodynamically proven shapes, and just a hint of a cut out in the seat tube to squeak out just a bit more tire clearance, add up to a bike that proves the adage.
Lightweight Speed
Some might say aero doesn't matter on a gravel bike, but if you've battled a headwind across an open prairie, the thirty-two grams of drag you'll save with the Aspero-5 come as a welcome respite. Most gravel racing is done without the benefit of a World Tour peloton—or World Tour tactics—and when it's your nose in the wind all day, it's nice to know your bike's shouldering a bit of the load.
Two-Position Adjustment
"Trail", or front wheel response to rider input, is the most critical factor in high-velocity handling. The ability to adjust trail with the two-position "Trail Mixer" to compensate for the extreme range of tire sizes ensures a uniform ride experience.
Multiple Configurations
We engineered the bike to fit most 700x42 or 650x49 tire/wheel combos, comfortably. Of course, there are variables—rim width, tire casing/tread depth—which will affect final clearance. IMPORTANT NOTE: We always recommend there to be 4mm of clearance around whichever tire/wheel combo is installed on the bike.
